Job Role QA Engineer 3 - Hadoop testing

Job Description:
Responsibilities:1. Based on functional specifications, develop test plans, and test cases for functional, regression, and system level test activities to ensure the accuracy and stability of the software applications.
2. Take ownership for the manual, automation, performance and security testing for our web applications
3. Design and build automation frameworks to automate as much of the testing as possible for the web applications
4. Work with development team to ensure unit test coverage
5. Prepare test documentation based on requirements
6. Track and analyze test results, create report, draw conclusion, and make necessary recommendations for improvements.
7. Complete full system regression testing for releases
8. Collaborate with development teams to understand how development changes affect ongoing Automation efforts
9. Identify the components of the system to be automated based on business priority and benefits of automated testing
10. Provide test coverage analysis based on automation results
11. Write and review QA documentation

Candidate Profile:
Essential Skills & Experience:
1. 4—6 years of experience with testing using selenium’s, soapui, Junit, Java, Python, Perl and Scala
2. Basic Networking Knowledge
3. Strong Java , python programming skills
4. Experience in Big data technologies ( Hadoop/No SQL databases/streaming platforms/mongo DB) a big plus
5. Strong experience with Automated testing and continuous integration
6. Strong Unix and Linux background with administration skills
7. Experience working with Agile team using test driven development. Short Sprint cycles 2 – 4 weeks.
8. Ability to influence product design in order to meet testability requirements
9. Ability to design test frameworks
10. Ability to deep dive technically in product design and modules designs
