Corporate Patents – GSC (CP-GSC) together with Corporate Patents Denmark (CP-DK) and Novo Nordisk Inc. Intellectual Property Department (NNI-IPD) forms Novo Nordisk’s Global Patent Organization (GPO). CP-GSC provides Prior Art Searches (Novelty & Freedom of Operation Searches), Patent Prosecution and Patent Coordinator Support to GPO.

The Job
- To complete all assigned tasks on time.
- Carry out and deliver Novelty Searches independently that pass the scrutiny of the Manager or the supervising staff member.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of novelty and inventive step aspects in novelty considerations. Displays aptitude for identifying relevant references based on such considerations.
- Carry out FoO searches and other business-critical searches such as opposition and invalidation searches.
- Is capable of identifying all features of a given invention; can further identify the broader and narrower aspects of the invention.
- Is capable of setting up all types of searches (eg., keyword, sequence, chemical structure, etc.)
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree. Prefer a Master’s degree for the Pharma PINS position. Excellent communication skills with a strong command over written and spoken English is essential. Strong domain knowledge in Areas
- Has completed a minimum of 2-4 years as Patent Analyst
- Protein engineering/Biochemistry, preferably with knowledge of proteins, molecular biology, or Peptide science/Pharmacology, preferably pertinent to Diabetes/Biotechnology/Biopharmaceutical Science/Diabetes biology/antibodies/Proteomics
- Has a good understanding of the IP aspects related to patentability; demonstrates such understanding by mentoring the Patent Analysts and Senior Patent Analysts.
- Has good functional expertise in using various patent and non-patent search databases for patentability searches; demonstrates such expertise by helping the Patent Analysts/Sr Patent Analysts with their searches.
