Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) is a not-for-profit Section 8, Schedule B, Public Sector Enterprise, set up by Department ofBiotechnology (DBT), Government of India as an Interface Agency to strengthen and empower the emerging Biotech enterprise to undertake strategic research and innovation, addressing nationally relevant product development needs.BIRAC is a new industry-academia interface and implements its mandate through a wide range of impact initiatives, be it providing access to risk capital through targeted funding, technology transfer, IP management and handholding schemes that help bring innovation excellence to the biotech firms and make them globally competitive. In its three years of existence, BIRAC has initiated several schemes, networks and platforms that help to bridge the existing gaps in the industry-academia Innovation research and facilitate novel, high quality affordable products development through cutting edge technologies. BIRAC has initiated partnerships with several national and global partners to collaborate and deliver the salient features of its mandate.
Position I
Job Title : Manager Research Analysis and Facilitation
Job Description :
- Formulate the SOP for working of the Make In India – Investment Facilitation Cell, in consultation with Management and stakeholders
- Create awareness regarding the opportunities available in India to attract investments in theBiotechnology sector
- Prepare detailed reports relevant to the subject areas of Make in India in Biotechnology sector
- Developing content for the Make in India micro website and ensuring its regular update
- Co-ordinate with Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) for updating and reporting on the status of Make in India milestones, preparing action taken reports in consultation with the Management and stakeholders
- Gather the information and resources relevant to start and scale –up the Biotechnology business in the country and present the same onto the BIRAC website so as to guide the investors
- Receiving the queries/concerns of the potential investors, analyse them and communicate the appropriate response to them including providing information on policy and various incentive schemes
- Gather the relevant information from the reliable sources (multiple resource persons from various Government Ministries and Departments) and communicating the same to the query seeker
- Adhere to the timelines of response as set by the SOP
- Prepare and present queries’ analysis report to the Management that can help in formulation of any policy in accordance with the initiative,
- Any other work deemed to align with the mandate of Make in India
Eligibility Criteria :
Essential Requirements :
- MSc/MS/M.Tech/MPhil/MBBS in any area of life sciences & healthcare
- Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience
- Age limit up to 35years
Desirable Requirements :
- PGMBA with Business experience especially in lifescience industry
- Knowledge of Indian and global Life Science industry
- Understanding of public funding ecosystem, biotech start-ups and tax regimes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
Compensation : Consolidated between INR. 45000/- to INR. 60,000/-
Position II
Job Title : Management Intern
Job Description :
- Facilitate the establishment of SOPs forfunctioning of the Make In India – Investment Facilitation Cellat BIRAC
- Data mining and analysis for producing reports on variousaspects of Make in India
- Co-ordinating with and assistingthe Manager Research Analysis and Facilitation and other stakeholders for the activities related to the Investment Facilitation Cell
- Any other task assigned by the Management as deemed fit in purview of the Make in India initiative
Essential Qualification :
- BTech/M.Sc./M. Tech in any domain of Life Science
- Work Experience: Minimum 2 year relevant experience
- Age limit:Up to 30 years
Desirable Requirements :
- Proven proficiency in MS Office
- Demonstrated Writing capabilities
Compensation : Consolidated Between INR.25,000/- to INR. 30,000/-
