The Directorate of Mushroom Researchis located in Solan city of Himachal Pradesh, endeared as the gateway of Himachal Pradesh, the mountainous wonder of Solan city is famous for its cultural splendor, excellent picnic spots, numerous old temples and seasonal vegetable crops. Being quite industrialized, Solan is widely popular for its mushroom cultivation and bearing the title of “Mushroom City of India”. Considering the contribution of this city and endeavor of DMR towards mushroom research, development, cultivation and popularization of mushroom, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh declared Solan as Mushroom City of India on 10th September, 1997 during the Indian Mushroom Conference organized jointly by the DMR and Mushroom Society of India.

Essential Qualification : B.Sc Agriculture / Horticulture / Agriculture Marketing

Desirable Qualification and Experience :

• M.Sc Agriculture Extension / Agriculture Economics / Agri Statistics / Agri business management
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in relevant field

Age : 21-45 years

Payscale : Rs. 15000 per month

Job Profile : To provide assistance in extension related activities like attending to and facilitating the visit of the farmers/students ,visiting the directorate,preparing draft reply,answering phone calls,maintanence of extension activity records,data entry etc.

Desirable Experience : Experience in mushroom taxonomy,DNA isolation and sequencing of ITS,BLAST and other molecular techniques.Enzyme estimation and Protein purification.

Age Limit : 21-45 years

Payscale : Rs.25000
