Job Title : Advanced Research Assistant - Laboratory Pipelines
Qualification : Undergraduate degree in Biological Science (BSc) or equivalent
Essential Skills :
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately, efficiently, and to work without supervision
  • Ability to undertake basic trouble shooting and solve simple problems
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good organization and adaptability to regularly changing priorities and workloads
Desired Skills :
  • Graduate experience in a laboratory environment, preferably in biological science
  • Experience in a high-throughput environment
  • Experience in data entry and sample tracking
  • Experience in operation of liquid handling robotic equipment
About the Role : The primary purpose of this role is to support the laboratory pipelines that underpin these consortial projects, going all the way from processing samples collected in the field through to the generation of large-scale genome data using a variety of sequencing and genotyping technologies.  There will also be the opportunity to contribute to the development of new laboratory methods for genome variation analysis and for sample management in large international collaborations.
Payscale : £24226 to £30537pa dependent on experience.
